Abandoned logs

I often drew chestnut trees or dead abandoned trunks I met in the woods near Varese, where during the war I had been displaced as a child.
After moving to Pavia in 1977, I found the same emotions when drawing the wreckage left by the Ticino river on the shore gravel. From these passionate drawings the acrylic paintings of the eighties and nineties were born, with subdued low-pitched tones and the river bank in the background.
