The "Hydrangeas" theme I have never forsaken since my first works. These flowers take me back to a nostalgic reminder of the garden of my childhood.
Small studios or large pastels on the background of the cliffs of Elba Island; more recently large canvases where lumps of color crumble almost losing their natural peculiarities, a pretext for somewhat fuzzy masses - purple, pink, white, yellow or orange - in the foreground, and valleys, ravines and gorges in the background. Now the skies are leaden, now transparent; either sunrise or sunset.
All these acrylic paintings stem from small pencil drawings, wherein the almost metaphysical composition is already defined.
